You will need:

  • 1 package Old World Lentil Soup
  • 2 tbs. olive oil
  • 1 Cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1/2 lbs. diced smoked sausage

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and sort through the dry lentils, check for any unwanted debris and discard.*
  2. Add olive oil to a large soup pot over medium-high heat. Sauté the onion and garlic for 5-6 minutes until onions become translucent.
  3. Add 6 cups o water, sausage, and rinsed lentils. Turn the heat to high and bring mixture to a rolling boil. Stir periodically.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer (covered) for 25 minutes.
  5. Uncover and check the lentils.
  6. If tender, add seasoning packet and continue to simmer for 10 minutes before serving.

Cooking Tips

  • Recipe also works great with diced ham, chicken, or beef.
  • Add any of your favorite vegetables with the onion for even more great flavor and nutrition.

Sea Salt, natural flavors (including natural hickory smoke and grill flavors), yeast extract. Contains no known allergens.
